I’ve done Artist Trading Card swaps for many years. But this last month was the first time I did an Artist Trading Coin swap. This one was hosted by Janelle and she said, pretty much anything goes.
We could do collage work, stamping, drawing, painting, inking, or whatever suites our interest. That seemed to me to be the perfect kind of swap to participate in for the first go around with coins.
So I pulled together a set of coins using water color backgrounds, a fun rubber stamp, some doodling, water brush pens, and a tiny shimmer heart sticker on each one.
Here’s the set I came up with:
I have two coins left over from the swap. If you’d like to swap one of mine for one of yours – drop me an email. If I have any leftover by then, I’ll happily trade with you.
Hugs to you All,
~Cindy
Im wanting to do more coins – another swap maybe?
I’m open to just about any type of swap you host my friend. 😀
WOW…so creative and unique trading idea!!! Bet we could do this with fabric as well…hmmmmmmmmm wine coasters?? HA
Good Morning Robbie, I’m thinking they could be accomplished using fabric. At least I don’t see why not. Go for it… I’d love to see your finished art too. 🙂
Apparently it is a type of ATC but coin shaped, sturdy and two and half inches in diameter. Joanne Hodges (craftyhodges) makes beautiful round pieces of art and gave them a name… Artist Trading Coins https://youtu.be/MfpsSWmNi2k
Gail – yes, they are very similar to the ATCs. Although I’ve done a bazillion ATC trades, this was the first coin trade I’ve done. I looked at other people’s coins for inspiration and to learn how to do them. Thanks for dropping in and sharing a helpful link too.
They are so beautiful. And lucky me, one arrived at my house . Thank you very much , Cindy.
Oh cool! I’m so glad you liked the one you received! It was a fun swap. The cards I received back were from Janelle, Robin, and Shirley. Each one of them unique and awesome! After breaking two migraines this week – I’m ready for another swap now.
These are very cute! What is the size?
Thanks for popping in and commenting. These little coins are only 2.5”. They fit in the sleeves I use for ATCs.
The “coins” are adorable! I love House Mouse. What size are they?
Hello Dorothy, I am a big house mouse fan as well. I have a dozen or more HM stamps in my collection. 😁 items made with them are some of my best sellers at Craftfairs. So I guess others feel the same way we do about them.
My coins are 2.5 inch circles.
What did you make your coin with, or was the coin purchased? Your coins were great!
Hi Kat, I made my coins from heavy weight papers. A watercolor paper for the main design part plus a card stock to provide a sturdy background. Thanks for stopping in.
