On Monday we posted our newest MOJO challenge in the Line Weaving forums. This week we are using patterns Pozi by Lizzie Mayne, and Flormeoba Rose by Melissa Sansom. I haven’t even started mine yet. It’s been a busy week thus far. It should start slowing down by this afternoon though. And I look forward to just sitting and drawing.
Baby quails are out and about in our region right now and so I think I’ll draw sitting on my front courtyard. Maybe I’ll get to see a family of quails scurry by. 😀 This is one of my favorite drawing spots at our place. The early evening shade is refreshing.
Where’s the MOJOs
Are you wondering why here it is Wednesday and I’m just now posting on my blog the MOJO for this week? Well that’s because the MOJO challenges are posted on Sunday or Monday…. in our Line Weaving Community. They are posted in and hosted by our forums. So if you really want to get notified of the MOJO and Weekend Weaver creative challenges as soon as they are posted, please make sure you join our little community. Visiting the site regularly will let you see the new challenges and give you another opportunity to walk through our gallery to get inspiration from others works of art. Plus you can add your art too! 😀
Now if you want to get a notification in your email box each time a new challenge posts out – just subscribe to the “Members Challenges” forum string (from inside the community forums). Then boom – just like magic you’ll get a notification every time a new creative challenge is posted! If you’re not sure of which buttons to click on to subscribe, please let me know and I’ll gladly walk you through the steps.
And one more thing…. In the challenge postings you’ll always find a link to the featured patterns for the week too. That makes things easy peasy!
Last Week’s Creative
I was late in getting my challenge completed last week. Well, not really late as there’s no set date to get them accomplished. But I always give myself the personal goal of accomplishing them before the next MOJO is posted. Last week I missed it by a day. But hey, I did actually get ‘er done.
The patterns we worked with were Almond by Linda Rea and Bell 3 Plant by Sandra Strait. Most folks used the Bell 3 Plant pattern in a growing plant type fashion. I’m just in a weird mood, so I decided to turn that puppy upside down and make it a…. um…. I guess an assembly line machine would be the best way to describe it? LOL Anyway – here’s a picture of my little creation:
Funky and Fun is what I was going for. There was a steam punk creative theme going on in the Pattern Collections facebook group last week too. And while I don’t typically post my art on FB, I still try to go along with the themes in my playtime drawings when I can. I like how such creative challenges have me stretching my imagination and my patterning skills. So this little ditty used the Line Weaving MOJO challenge patterns with just a wee bit of a steam pinkish type flavoring added. At least I think it did.
I’ve got a few more pictures and fun stuff to share with you this week. But I’m afraid my blogging time has come to an end. I’ll try to get my next posting out in just a couple of days. In the mean time – don’t forget to log into the Line Weaving forums and see what fun creative challenges we have going on. I posted a new tutorial on Orbital Spirals last week. Fun stuff!
Cheers,
~Cindy
